ME (in convenient, easy-to-follow bullet points).

  • Spent four mind-bending years at art school in New York City.
  • Spent another mind-bending year working at Club Med as a sailing instructor and a DJ.
  • Going back to ad school at SVA changed my life.
  • Went on to work for three amazing mentors: Ed McCabe, Dan Mountain, and Rick Sittig.
    • Ed taught me how to take a beating and get back up again.
    • Dan taught me how to make a concept soulful without making it schmaltzy.
    • Rick taught me how to get a belly laugh in 30 seconds.
  • Worked at Deutsch for a year. Freelanced at Chiat for a year.
  • Was asked by Rob Sherlock – the new CCO of FCB/Chicago – if I would join a small group of CDs to lead teams on some good-looking opportunities. His English accent made him sound really creative, so I took a chance and moved my family to Chicago.
  • Became a member of a senior leadership team on the Qwest account until the client was bought up. Moved on to run Bull’s-Eye BBQ Sauce and A1 Steak Sauce.
  • Was accepted to Northwestern University’s MS in Strategic Communications program. It was a challenge (Especially while working and being a dad), but I now have a unique toolbox of skills that can help people and organizations connect.
  • Earned my Masters in July, ’10.
  • Moved back to LA and started consulting on creative and strategy for some really great companies.
  • Formed 101North with my incredibly talented wife, Johanna, to create work for our own clients and projects. Created projects for P&G, DeclareYourself.org, NPR, and promos for Johanna’s book.
  • Always looking to add more bullet points.
